Fotbal

Fotbal, known as soccer in many countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The primary objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, commonly made of grass or artificial turf, and it follows specific rules, known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

In fotbal, players primarily use their feet to control, pass, and dribble the ball, although goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area. The match consists of two halves, typically lasting 45 minutes each, with a halftime interval. If the game is tied, different rules may apply depending on the competition, such as extra time or penalty shootouts.

Fotbal is governed at the international level by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organizes major tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. The sport is widely popular globally, known for its passionate fanbase and significant cultural impact, often being referred to as the world’s most popular sport.
