Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players each. It is played on a circular or oval-shaped field, known as a cricket ground, at the center of which is a rectangular pitch. The objective of the game is for one team to score runs while the other team attempts to dismiss the batters and limit the runs scored.

The game consists of various formats, including Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 (T20) matches, each differing in the number of overs and duration. Players score runs by hitting the ball bowled at them with a flat bat and running between two sets of wickets, or by hitting the ball out of the field for boundaries.

Cricket has a rich history and is highly popular in many countries, particularly in regions such as England, India, Australia, and the West Indies. The sport is governed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) at the international level. Key elements of the game include batting, bowling, and fielding, each of which requires specific skills and strategies. Cricket is known for its unique terminology and rules, which contribute to its complexity and appeal.
