Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played either individually (singles) or in pairs (doubles), where players hit a round, felt-covered rubber ball over a net into the opponent’s court. The objective is to score points by landing the ball in specified areas of the opponent’s side of the court, making it difficult for them to return it. The game is played on various surfaces, including grass, clay, and hard courts, with each surface influencing the ball’s behavior. Points are scored in a sequence of games, which make up sets, and typically, a match is won by the player or team that first wins a predetermined number of sets. Tennis is governed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and has various tournaments worldwide, including four major Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
